Working toward world-class educational opportunities for all Arkansas students.
Despite our varied experiences and perspectives, most Arkansans know that we can do better for our kids. Our schools are consistently stuck near the bottom of national rankings. There are a lot of opinions on how to help our students learn better, and a lot of political and ideological noise around what schools should do.
With more than 90% of Arkansas students attending local public schools, the good news is that there is astonishing consensus around reforms that will improve outcomes for every single child in our state. Backed by a multitude of peer-reviewed studies and case examples, the path to improving our schools is remarkably clear:
- Creating better oversight & transparency for how our public taxpayer money is spent
- Improving special education
- Extra help for low-income children
- High-quality early childhood education
- After-school and summer programs
- Strengthening student/parent/educator and community collaboration
- Improving teacher quality
- High-quality curriculum and standards
