Arkansas’ Board of Corrections planned to implement the most restrictive prison book ban in the country on February 1, 2026. Under pressure from you all, the board revealed that the book ban rule did not go through the proper implementation process. This delay bought us more time, but the ban can still move forward.
Now, we need to put greater pressure on the Board of Corrections and bring in more of our neighbors to successfully defeat the book ban.
Thursday, April 16th, we’re hosting a strategy meeting to:
- Provide updates on where the prison book ban currently stands
- Brainstorm creative ways we can take collective action
- Take home outreach materials & a plan to activate your network
We need everybody to win this fight and ensure our friends on the inside have access to books! Bring a few friends with you to the meeting.
And don’t forget to take 3 minutes to email the Board of Corrections with this easy form.
