Subject: Concerns About 287(g) Implementation Under Defense Against Criminal Illegals Act

Dear Governor Sanders,

I am writing as an Arkansas resident to express serious concerns about the mandatory 287(g) program implementation under the Defense Against Criminal Illegals Act.

287(g) undermines community safety by: Communities thrive when ALL residents feel safe approaching law enforcement. Research consistently shows that policies that are supportive of immigrant communities correlate with lower crime rates, not higher ones.

I urge you to reconsider this mandate and instead support policies that strengthen community-police partnerships and focus our resources on local public safety priorities.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

[Your name]

[Your city, Arkansas]

Why You should Act

We are urgently asking you to contact Sarah Sanders’ office regarding 287(g) implementation using state police for immigration enforcement.
